We have all heard the saying, “don’t judge a book by it’s cover”. How many of us do, though? I came across a shared post on Facebook. For someone who is TERRIBLE at math, this gave me a good laugh!

I have to admit, I am guilty of walking down the aisle at the bookstore and looking at all the pretty covers. I do buy a book based on the cover. It is what draws me to the book – and then I will read the synopsis and see if it’s something I will enjoy.
Is it wrong of me to do so? I do not think so. The illustrations on the cover of a book are meant to draw you in. If you had one book that is plain white with black letters and another that has a detailed image of the story, would you be more inclined to choose the one with the image? I know I would! This is something that authors and publishers should (and do) take into consideration when marketing towards their selected audience.
